Managing WHOIS Contact Information

Last updated on Apr 30, 2025

WHOIS contact information is tied to your domain and includes your name, organisation, address, email, and phone number. Keeping it up to date is important for domain ownership, renewal reminders, and compliance with domain registries.

🔐 Step 1: Log in to Your Client Area

Go to https://my.ecowebhosting.co.uk and sign in.

🌐 Step 2: Open Domain Management

  1. Go to Domains > My Domains

  2. Click Manage next to the domain you want to update

  3. Select Contact Information from the sidebar menu

✏️ Step 3: Review and Update WHOIS Details

You’ll see three contact types:

  • Registrant – The legal owner of the domain

  • Admin – Handles administrative domain matters

  • Billing – Used for invoice and renewal contacts

You can choose to:

  • Use the same details for all contacts, or

  • Set each one individually

Update the fields as required and click Save Changes.

🛡️ If your domain has WHOIS Privacy/ID Protection enabled, your personal details will be hidden from public view.

🔁 When to Update

  • If your email address changes

  • After a business name change or rebrand

  • When transferring ownership of a domain

Keeping WHOIS details accurate is essential — in some cases, invalid or outdated information could result in a domain suspension by the registry.
